Togo is a small country from West Africa between Ghana and Benin. Togo is colonized by Germany before the first world war. Togo was divided after Germany lost the war between France and British. The current Togo is only the part controlled by the French.

Most people think of high fashion, they think of fashion in Paris,fashion in Milan and fashion in New York. But some designers think countries in Africa will be the next big fashion trend-setters. There are great designers in Ghana,Togo,South Africa,Uganda,Nigeria and more.

There are several african designers who excel in the design of beautiful dinner dress, or an evening fashiondress.

Most african fashion designers focuses their attire on locally made african fabrics, like african bright, elaborate african cotton prints and multicolored african batiks.

African designers do not have anything to envy from the Western world.

Western fashion designers are also watching the continent for inspiration. This year, Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior rolled out shoes with african symbols. One Japanese designer had his models sporting popular african fabric. But, back on the continent, the african fashion business is a hard sell.Last Ghana Fashion Weekend had difficulty attracting sponsors.

Even though some african fashion designers are getting international acclaim, it is still hard to launch their brands on a global scale. There's not enough money to mass produce.
The african fashion industry is still young, but when it comes to creativity, local african fashion designers can compete without doubt with the rest of the fashion world.
